The app features a selection of music videos including popular songs such as Baby Shark, Dance Monkey, and Wheels on the Bus, which serve to make the recommended brushing duration more engaging and less monotonous. Developed by dental professionals, BrushJam aims to promote oral health by supporting users in establishing effective brushing habits.

Compatible with both manual and electric toothbrushes, the app allows users to customize reminders for essential oral hygiene practices, including replacing toothbrushes or brush heads every three months, brushing at least twice daily, flossing or cleaning interdentally each day, and upcoming dental visits with professionals such as dentists, hygienists, orthodontists, or dental therapists.

Additionally, the app introduces a gamified element where users can select a "Buddy" character, each with unique personalities and playlists, to make brushing sessions more enjoyable. Users can collect pieces of their Buddy with each brushing session; completing all four pieces rewards the user with a sticker, adding an incentive to maintain consistent habits.
